My friend's 1991 Honda Accord has a bent frame cross member.
 

My friend ran over a traffic median and bent his cross member back approximately 1 and 1/4 inches.

I understand a frame straightening machine might fix this, but will the vehicle be safe to drive after all of the stress to the metal?

Or is it better to try to replace the entire cross member?

Any advice is appreciated.
