I got an AT&T wireless phone service in Illinois that will expire about 20 months from now.  AT&T won't replace my plan with a comparable plan when I move.

Due to some reason I had to move to Georgia and wanted to get another number with the same plan in Georgis.  I called AT&T and requested a change of wireless phone number.

I was told that I will be given a plan similar to my existing plan, but different since the plan I have is not valid in the state of Georgia and I will be charged $25 for change of telephone number.  I thought that is fine and will work for me.  Then customer service explained that the new plan in Georgia will have 250 minutes -- 100 less than my current plan and no long distance facility, which off course is not a similar plan.

I thought it's better to cancel and go to another company with lot more minutes and plans.  The reply from AT&T was that I have to pay $175 cancellation charges or I would have one more year on my contract.  My old plan expires in November 2003.

My complaint is that either they should give me what I was getting in my old plain or waive the cancellation charges.
