Vonage's features and customer service do not support its marketing claims.

On November 23, I purchased a Linksys VOIP wireless phone router at Best Buy.  I am disappointed because the claims that Vonage makes about its service are completely false.  Furthermore, its billing practices are unethical and wrong.

Let me begin by saying that the very idea of VOIP sounds great.  The first problem that I had was that the call waiting feature that I paid for does not work.  Secondly, sending and receiving a fax is a joke.  It will actually transmit maybe one out of one hundred times.  I have spent countless hours on the phone with Vonage technical support, which has the lowest possible standard for customer service I have ever seen with any similar service.  They hardly speak English and do not even comprehend my problem much less make any attempt to resolve it.

Also, I never received my rebate that was promised by the manufacture.  Then, ignorantly on my behalf, I decided to increase my plan to include more services.  This resulted in me being billed twice in the same month including a new activation fee three months after I paid the first one.  It is completely absurd for me to pay for a service that does not work and one which the provider makes no attempt to solve the problem in a timely manor.
