I bought it at the Texarkana store and they recommended that
I purchase the extended warranty on it for two (2) years. I asked if this warranty
was for all working parts, service, etc. I was quarantined that it was.
Nine (9) months later the bearings in the motor burned
up. I called Sears at Hot Springs, since we had moved -- my husband worked
construction -- they said they would be glad to come out and check it out, but that the
warranty that I had bought was only good at the Texarkana store. I proceeded to call
them, they told me that I would have to bring it to their service center in Texarkana or
they couldn't take care of it under their warranty.
Strange that Sears is everywhere but they are not the same
store!! They told me also to take it to my nearest Sears which had told me that
they would have to charge me extra to take care of another store's warranty. To make
a long story short, we took it in and seven (7) months later we got it back. The
mounts for the motor are not aligned. This makes the blade out of alignment and the
base is now cracked, the table is cracked, there are bolts missing and it is a mess.
My husband and many of his carpenter friends have discussed
how shabby Sears has become. We really would like to know how Craftsman tools is
going to survive.
P.S. -- By the way, on the second date they gave us that the saw would be ready, I called
ahead and they informed me that the motor they got in was given to someone else. So
they had to re-order. Of course, it was their service man's fault.
