Each chain must be filed at specific angles depending on the
chain. These angles are normally found in the owners manual, but my manual had
nothing about sharpening the chain.
I contacted Sears and was told that Sears does
not sharpen chains any more, they simply replace them. I said I just wanted the
angles so I can sharpen it myself. The agent said no one at Sears could give that
information.
My next step was to e-mail the national Sears Customer
Service about my problem. No one ever replied. I then sent a certified letter
to Sears National Customer Relations, but, again, no one replied.
I filed a complaint with BBB, but Sears in Lafayette, LA did
not respond, so Sears received an unsatisfactory rating.
This is equivalent to buying a lawn mower and disposing of
the blade and replacing it with a new one when it becomes dull.
