I took the broken item with the box and all the supporting
documents to the local Post Office (Oak Hill, VA) and filed a claim. The item was
$7.99 and the shipping was $9.25 + $1.30 for insurance.
I have not heard anything from the USPS. I visited the
office where I filed the claim and was told that it might take up to a year.
After several attempts to get the status of the claim, I was
told that they cannot find any records of the claim and suggested for me to go there again
and resubmit the claim.
I am now coming back from there and wasted another hour of my
time since they suggested to only reimburse the item price and not the shipping and
insurance. I did not accept that and asked to talk to the postmaster, but was denied
the request.
I asked to file a complaint and was only given the 800 number
to call. I am buying almost everything online and from now on I will only buy if
they ship using some other methods beside USPS.
Any suggestions?
