Hi,
I am an absolutely disgusted customer of Whirlpool India. I purchased a Whirlpool
refrigerator on 20th may 2004 (Serial no. JB4356684 and Model no. WRM3GABYWN) from Ms
Navrang Electronics, Laxmi Nagar. At the time of purchase, I was not told that the 7
warranty is broken into 1+6 years; i.e. after one year, the warranty applies to the
compressor only. After one year, when the first year of 1+6 years warranty period expired,
I was not informed of any AMC or Homecare plan from Whirlpool which should have actually
been told to me prior to expiry of my first year warranty. In the meantime, I faced some
problem with the refrigerator and registered a complaint. The executive came and after
checking, demanded an amount of Rs 850 for a part to be replaced, which I didn't pay
stating that the warranty is for 7 years. After that around 27th June, I got a call from
Whirlpool India telling me about Homecare plan in which I had to pay Rs 1995 for 6 years
service. I was interested in that. The executive visited me next day and prepared all the
formal documents. But to my surprise, he got a call from Whirlpool customer care and
refused to give me AMC the reason being my complaint has already been registered with
Whirlpool and I can't take the AMC plan until I get that complaint rectified. That is
absolutely ridiculous. The following points arise:
1. Why was I not informed prior to expiry of my warranty
period and was informed after 1 and half months later about the AMC plan?
2. Upon complaining, people at whirlpool ridiculously told me
that they must have given me a call about the AMC but I might have refused the offer at
that time. I don't think I or anybody would be a fool that would like to pay one time
charges of rs 1000 to your executive rather than taking an AMC of rs 2000 for 6 years.
Now, even after repeated calls, I am being denied of the AMC
contract till the time my complaint is cleared. If I purchased a fridge of rs 23,000, why
should I pay rs 1,000 extra unnecessarily knowing that my complaint can be covered in the
AMC contract, and that too because of your mistake of not letting me of the AMC contract
on time?
The last option left with me is to go to consumer court which
I am going to do very soon if I don't get a proper response from you after that mail. Not
even that, I would like to provide a feedback telling people of your "not so
good" reputation and how you harass the people even after spending Rs 23,000 on your
products,

Sir,
This is to inform you
that I am a family member of Whirlpool India having all
domestic appliances like Refrigerator, air conditioners,
washing Machines etc.
But I
am sorry to state that the reliability of Whirlpool
components are very low causing frequent interruption of the
operation of these machines.
Yesterday,
the electronic display unit of my refrigerator model
Ice magic 250 Elite has stopped functioning,
thus causing the entire refrigerator to stop(.)
I
would like to remind that this unit has already failed
during warranty period once. I
enquired the cost of the component is Rs,2200?, which is a
very high figure, probably double the cost , a new
refrigerator of low cost can be purchased, which will work
satisfactorily. The so called sophisticated refrigerator is
5years old & has so many problems, added to it is the poor
service of local representatives.
I am general Manager of
a central PSU & if I get such type of service, I can imagine
the service rendered to others by M/s Whirlpool(.)
Probably a stage has
reached we have to stop entry of whirlpool products to our
club members, both NALCO officers & Ladies club, as a lot of
complaint are received in our colony & townships(.)
I would request you to
kindly investigate the same & arrange for an early
replacement & make suitable measures so that the component
does not frequently fail. |

Dear Sir,
We had purchased a Whirlpool Refrigerator (Elite ICE Magic)
Double Door.
On December 30th the
refrigerator was not working and we gave the complaint.
The engineer came and
check the refrigerator and informed that PCB has to be
replaced. He also told
us that it Costs Rs.2700/-.
We
said it was purchased only 3 years ago and the cost
is too high. Then to,
we agreed for replacement of
PCB.
From December
31st to till to date they
are informing us that it is not in stock.
This has come from the head
office, etc.,
etc.
The
service people are so careless and they
do not even bother to
answer the customer properly.
It is really shameful to
know that such a big company takes more than one month to
repair the refrigerator. It is really shameful.
Please take care of this
matter and I request you to please
solve this immediately.
We cannot resale this
also as it does not have value.

Dear All Prospective
buyers of Whirlpool products:
Beware.
If you buy the Whirlpool products, You would not be able to
get your service complaints attended even 3-4 days after
call register. I logged my complaint ( Complaint Number -
Gb0508005045)regarding my double door refrigerator two days
back but still no body came to attend the same. Whenever i
called their customer care number, the executives were very
HAPPY to say " We are sorry for the trouble", but actually
it is just to close one call and add one more attended call
in their record ( as they get salary as per numbers of call
attended, irrespective of whether the complaint has been
attended or not).
So, BEWARE, Either don't buy the whirlpool product or be
ready for the mental torture.

Unskilled engineers/servicemen

I purchased a whirlpool
1 ton AC from Nayyar Electronics,
Delhi. The first service which was due after three
months of purchase was quite satisfactory but the second
service damaged the AC front panel. I wrote a
complaint letter to whirlpool India limited but not received
any response from them. As this damage is done due to
the fault of whirlpool engineers/serviceman, they should
replace or repair/change the AC damaged portion free of
cost.

Welcome Kit

I bought a Whirlpool front loading washing machine (
sensation neo DLX).
While I am buying I was told I
will receive a welcome kit, which
I can use it for purchase of electronic goods
and Reebok shops where I will get discount.
It has been four months since I
bought the washing machine, but I
have not received the kit yet.
I called their customer service center but there is no
response.

On 20 June 2008, my
washing machine was taken by Whirlpool service centre under
ID number allotted to me :4457307 by the call
centre:41666333.
I was told that it will
be ready in 2 days but till now even after 09 days, I am not
aware about the status of the machine.
Nobody is available to
reply. Their managers Sh Manoj
Panwar and Sh Vikram are always reported to be busy
attending other customers so no way out.
It
appears that my washing machine has been "Stolen" by
Whirlpool service center personnel and I may have to lodge
Police complaint besides Consumer Form to get back the same.
It is hopeless service.
Nobody listens to the telephone talk which is reported to
be "recorded" when ever I talk to the call centre
regarding No:41666333.
There is nothing like
customer service in Whirlpool of
India.
