After reading the other Great Escapes Travel Club postings I feel it necessary to inform others of the non-existent freebies used to entice you to sit through the clubs sales pitch.

Some of these include:

1. 100 gallons of free gas --- Assuming they will actually honor it.  A few of the requirements...  The entire $100.00 must be used within one year.  Only ten dollars may be redeemed at a time with a coupon that is sent to you allowing 4 to 6 weeks for delivery.  Six weeks times ten equals 60 weeks making it nearly impossible to actually get full value.  The receipt must be for no more than ten dollars from the fuel retailer.  If the receipt is found to be valid a check for ten dollars will be mailed to you along with another coupon.

2. One Thousand Dollar Internet Shopping Spree --- Using the pass code on the certificate to login I am directed to a web page that goes nowhere.  Calling the customer service number and selecting "problem with the internet" the message "this mailbox is full" is heard.  We then called Great Escapes and waited 30 minutes after being put on hold by their automated answer system

3. 3 day 2 night getaway at any Marriott --- Give 2 dates 30 days apart and wait to see if there is space available, but not within seven days either way of any major holiday.   We haven't pursued this yet, but I won't be surprised if it turns out bogus.

This company does not honor its commitments.
